Parental Appointments of Guardians for Children
The Texas Probate Code specifies how a parent can designate a guardian for a minor child, should the parent die before the child reaches the age of majority. As any parent will realize, there are many factors to be taken into consideration in making such a decision. Making this designation in a Will may not be the most appropriate or cost-effective means of naming such important agents. The attorneys at Garg & Associates can discuss these issues and offer guidance as to how to make this all-important decision—a decision that must also be considered from an estate planning point of view.
