The battle of Don Barden’s estate has mostly been conducted in private. The casino developer and business entrepreneur passed away after a battle of his own, with lung cancer. He was 67.
Last Friday, a hearing took place to assess the situation of the Barden estate. The estate in question consists of expensive cars, jewelry and The Barden Companies office building. Most of the documents in this battle have been sealed from the public.
One complaint against the estate comes in the form of a report that the office building was potentially contaminated which would become a responsibility of the estate. Barden’s daughter has stated she believes her father was mentally incompetent when composing the will and that it should be void. If this matter is approved in court, then the Barden estate will be controlled by Don’s widow.
